GRIEG'S BIOGRAPHY

Edvard Grieg (1843–1907) was a nationalistic Norwegian composer who was born in the small city of Bergen

However, he trained in Germany, resided in Rome and did various tours of Europe. His aim was to write classical music that reflected traditional Norwegian roots, and to this end he collected melodies and rhythms from the shepherds and peasants of his home land.
(Bergen)

The work:

Peer Gynt suite was composed for a play of the same name by Henrik Ibsen. It is usually performed as two orchestral suites.

The suite musical form consists of various instrumental pieces which form a coherent whole in some way. Peer Gynt suite narrates the fictional story of a Norwegian hero of the same name – the young adventurous and rather shameless rogue (granuja) who is the main character of the work.

The plot is essentially nationalistic: after a series of affairs and romantic disillusionments and following the death of his mother, the young protagonist decides to leave his homeland and to explore exotic countries. But in the end he decides to come home, where he finds his beloved
waiting for him, and where his restless soul finally finds peace.

‘Morning Mood’, the piece which opens the suite, is one of the most famous parts.

STOP BULLYING

Recently, lots of attention has shone on bullying - one of the most alarming issues among teenagers and extreme manifestations of violence and abuse, whether psychological, verbal or physical.

The popularity of social networks has exacerbated the situation. Young people are continually exposed to these new technologies, so monitoring their usage is vital. Hiding behind a screen makes them “braver” with less awareness of potential harm they may cause to others. The ability to reach a wider audience opens the door to more potential victims.

The aim of the video “You are not alone” created by students of 4º E.S.O. in the subject of music, is to make everyone conscious that human intervention is essential and that our support and confidence play a vital role in adolescents’ lives under these circumstances. One could also consider that schools should become more involved and carry out the protocols against bullying, since media such as Twitter and Facebook exposes the masses to voices and news, as we see in today’s election campaigns.

In conclusion, we believe that parents, schools, teachers and students should join forces to prevent bullying, to help the minority of adolescents in tragedy, since any teen could become the next victim at any time.

By- bye Chuck Berry

Yesterday Chuck Berry died, one of the most influential personalities in the musical genre of Rock & Roll. To him we owe him mythical songs like"Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957) and his famous "Johnny B. Goode" (1958).

I suggest that you look for songs by Chuck Berry on Youtube and then in comments write what you think and recommend it to other classmates.

HOW TO READ THE MUSIC- Tim Hansen

Like an actor's script, a sheet of music instructs a musician on what to play (the pitch) and when to play it (the rhythm). Sheet music may look complicated, but once you've gotten the hang of a few simple elements like notes, bars and clefs, you're ready to rock. Tim Hansen hits the instrumental basics you

LET SING Alexander Rybak - INTO A FANTASY (official soundtrack for "How To Train ...

I have a dream
You are there
High above the clouds somewhere
Rain is falling from the sky
But it never touches you
You're way up high

No more worries
No more fears
You have made them disappear
Sadness tried to steal the show
But now it feels like many years ago

And I
I will be with you every step (Hey! Hey!)
Tonight
I found a friend in you
And I'll keep you close forever

Come fly with me (oh-oh oh-oh)
Into a fantasy (oh-oh oh-oh)
Where you can be
Whoever you want to be
Come fly with me

We can fly all day long
Show me the world
Sing me a song
Tell me what the future holds
You and me will paint it all in gold!

And I
I will believe your every word (Hey! Hey!)
'Cause I
I have a friend in you
We'll always stay together

Come fly with me (oh-oh oh-oh)
Into a fantasy (oh-oh oh-oh)
Where you can be
Whoever you want to be
Come fly with me

(Hey!)

And I
I will be with you every step
Tonight
I found a friend in you
And I keep you close forever

Come fly with me
Into a fantasy
Where you can be
Whoever you want to be
Come fly with me

Come fly with me (oh-oh oh-oh)
Into a fantasy (oh-oh oh-oh)
Where you can be
Whoever you want to be
Come fly with me

LET SING -Alexander Rybak - "Funny Little World" (Official Music Video)

LYRICS:

Suddenly I'm famous,
And people know my name.
I've got a thousand girls just waiting,
And therefore it's a shame
That my heart has been captured
By your funny little smile.
And finally I'm happy,
If only for a while.
People call me stupid,
For treating you like a queen.
But I don't even worry,
'Cause you're my unforeseen
And I hope that you'll be with me,
If only in my dreams.
But here you are next to me,
And you're glad, or so it seems.
And I don't know for sure
Where this is going.
Still I hope for more, and more.
'Cause who would know that you
Would treat me like a boy,
And I treat you like a girl,
In this funny little world.
Don't promise me for ever,
Just love me day by day.
No one knows the future,
We're young, but that's OK.
'Cause you'll always be a part of me,
Whatever life will bring.
And people have to bear with you,
This silly song I sing.
Your boyfriends might be angry,
My girlfriends might be blue.
But no one can deny it,
From now on I love you.
I have to say it's new to me,
This feeling in my heart.
Guess I've been kind of lonely
And you've been kind of smart.
And I don't know for sure
Where this is going.
Still I hope for more, and more.
'Cause who would know that you
Would treat me like a boy,
And I treat you like a girl,

In this funny little world.
And I don't know for sure
Where this is going.
Still I hope for more, and more.
'Cause who would know that you
Would treat me like a boy,
And I treat you like a girl,

In this funny little world.
This funny little world.

The Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love?

PRACTISE THE RHYTHM WITH BODY PERCUSSION AND ACCOMPANY THIS SONG:

1-CLAP YOUR HANDS

2-SNAP YOUR FINGERS WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND

3-PAT YOUR CHEST WITH YOUR LEFT HAND

4-SNAP YOUR FINGERS WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND

Black Eyed Peas vuelven a preguntarse "Where is the Love?" recordando a Aylan y los conflictos raciales.
